Environmental Initiatives
Current Initiatives
The Group recognizes that a corporation has the responsibility to address environmental issues such as global warming. It has proactively worked on environmental conservation efforts through its business activities. Specifically, it has promoted energy saving by switching to LED lighting in its factories and distribution centers and by changing sales vehicles to hybrid vehicles used at certain locations.
Policy for Forthcoming Initiatives
We will implement a range of environment-friendly initiatives. We are currently working at certain locations to switch to LED lighting and to change sales vehicles to hybrid vehicles, and we will be expanding these initiaitives at even more locations. Additionally, in order to reduce our own CO2 emissions, we plan to consider initiatives that also contribute to the local community, thereby deepening our ties with local businesses and pursuing our contribution to the realization of a decarbonized society.
The Company’s CO2 emissions (Scope 1, Scope 2)
As part of our efforts towards a decarbonized society, we calculated our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions on a non-consolidated basis.
CO2 emissions (t- CO2) for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2023 are as follows.
Scope | Emissions(t-CO2) |
---|---|
Scope1 *1*3 | 646 |
Scope2 *2*3 | 325 |
Total | 971 |
- Direct greenhouse gas emissions by business operators themselves.
- Indirect emissions from the use of electricity and heat supplied by other companies, calculated based on market standards.
- For certain locations, calculations are based on estimated energy consumption.
The Company’s CO2 emissions reduction targets
We aim to reduce CO2 emissions from business activities of CONSEC on a non-consolidated basis* by 46% by fiscal year 2030 (compared to the fiscal year ended March 31, 2023). *Subject to Scope 1 and 2.
We will continue to make active efforts for energy saving and the introduction of renewable energy so as to reduce gasoline and electricity consumption, which account for the majority of emissions sources.
